10-Day Travel Trajectory
There’s so much of Portugal to see…
We get it. Travel planning can feel overwhelming. And we’re here to help you! If it’s your first time exploring Portugal, a trajectory like this is the perfect way to see it all at a fun, unhurried pace.
Lagos — 2 Nights
Your adventure begins in Lagos, home to the breathtaking Ponta da Piedade, where golden cliffs plunge into the turquoise waters – and Praia Dona Ana with its golden sands. Journey inland, and Lagos’ Old Town is filled with historic churches, bustling markets, and charming squares.
Lisbon — 2 Nights
Your next stop is Europe’s second-oldest capital, Lisbon. The highlights: Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest district, with its narrow, winding streets; the Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture; and Belém Tower, a 16th-century fortress and UNESCO World Heritage site.
Douro Valley — 2 Nights
Your next 2 nights will be spent in the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site where terraced vineyards cling to steep hillsides. You’ll enjoy a private tour of historic wine estates, or “Quintas” and discover the charming village of Pinhão directly in the heart of it all.
Porto — 3 Nights
Your trip concludes in Porto, the quintessential Portuguese city. Cross the Dom Luís I Bridge, a magnificent double-deck iron bridge with amazing views. See the Ribeira, Porto’s historic riverside quarter. Then ascend the Clérigos Tower, and be rewarded with sweeping views.

Family Adventure Through Portugal
The Ressler Family, known for their adventurous and fun-loving spirit, wanted to create the summer trip of a lifetime with an adventure through Portugal. We knew Lagos’s sun-drenched beaches and the vibrant Lisbon culture would provide all four with wonderful memories and experiences.
From a private bike tour of the Atlantic coastline to late-night mini golf, the Ressler Family enjoyed a variety of experiences. Through their Pastel de Nata Pastry Workshop, they learned the secrets behind Portugal’s iconic custard tarts and gained a deeper appreciation of the country’s culture and traditions.
“Traveling with Rachael as our planner was a dream. She was knowledgeable, responsive, and helped us plan things we never would have done on our own. This was our first overseas trip with our children and Rachael ensured that their needs were considered and everything was flawless. We met so many amazing guides and people through her network and felt that we got to experience the more authentic side of Portugal. We will definitely use Rachael for future European travel!”
When To Travel
While every season offers its own charm, the discerning traveler will find the period between March and October most agreeable. Summer can prove a touch overwhelming, but it is an excellent time for beach going if you don’t mind the crowds. Exploring the city can be done year-round. Best to visit between April and September for outdoor activities.
